In taste tests, 'Melogold' was always preferred by a wide margin over 'Marsh' but usually was a very close second to 'Oroblanco'. In flavor, 'Melo- gold' differs from both 'Oroblanco' and grapefruit and is more like pummelo. The total soluble solids, titratable acid, and solids-to-acid ratios of 'Melogold', 'Oroblanco.

Melogold are available from about November to March, with the peak of the season being December to February. The one I purchased (at Plum Market in Ann Arbor, MI) was grown in California and distributed by Ripe to You, one of my favorite citrus producers.
